L'Etoile opened because the village wanted a French bistro and nobody was going to open one. It sits two doors down South Street from Stellina, which means the group now runs two very different rooms within sight of each other.
Marble, banquettes, and a cocktail cart that comes to the table. Steak frites and escargots done properly rather than ironically, and a tartare finished in front of you because that is how it should arrive.
It is the newest of the dining rooms and, on the numbers, the best liked. It is the one we suggest when the evening is meant to feel like an occasion without being announced as one.
